This afternoon I went to a Black History Month event sponsored by Love Music Hate Racism at Barking College - Barking has 12 British National Party Councillors. Love Music had a workshop at the event

Lisa Moorish speaking about the experiences of racism of herself and her family.

She brought along some other musicians who've recently been involved in LMHR: Didz, Drew and Gary.

Then Lisa and Drew played a brilliant acoustic version of White Boy, Brown Girl.

Then my camera packed up but [info]karaadora has more.

There were lots of people there actually but as usual most people sit at the back at these things. Apart from people in bands apparently!

Thanks for sharing those photos. Shame there wasn't many attendees (well that's how it looks in the 2nd photo).

There were lots of people there, people tend to sit at the back at these things. Plus, it could have been while there was a break and we were showing the DVD while people got food and that, I can't remember, but generally given that it was organised at very short notice it was a well attended local event.

That's good that there was a good turnout, and like you say, at such short notice, that is a coup.

You and Kara both wrote that same sentence, you know: "Lisa & Drew did a briliant acoustic version of White Boy, Brown Girl." Weird.

Drew's hair, omg. It's all gone. :( :(
I'm probably really behind on this, aren't I?
